Administration of policies and regulations is the responsibility of
the Wisconsin Sports Development Corporation. Competition rules are
established by national governing bodies and commissioners in each
sport.
Badger State Games organizers reserve the right to disqualify any
participant and/or team from the Badger State Games for any of the
following reasons:
- False representation
- Unsportsmanlike conduct or disorderly behavior
- Destruction of property
- Improper use of alcohol or other drugs
Badger State Games organizers have the responsibility and the right
to make decisions which uphold the philosophy and spirit of the
Games.
RESIDENCY - A participant must be a legal
resident of the
State of Wisconsin for at least 30 days prior to the first day of
competition. University/college students and military personnel who
reside in Wisconsin or are in regular attendance at a Wisconsin
educational institution with a valid student I.D. Card are eligible
to attend.
Proof of residency must be furnished upon request.
AGE REQUIREMENTS - Competitors will use their
age as
specified in sport specific pages.
AMATEUR STATUS - No professional athlete is
allowed to
compete in the sport of his or her profession within one year of
active professional competition, except downhill skiing and figure
skating. See the downhill skiing and figure skating pages for more
information.
REFUND POLICY - The WSDC and the Badger State
Games employ a
NO REFUND policy.
INSURANCE - It is understood that the
Wisconsin Sports
Development Corporation does not insure against, and accepts no
responsibility for, personal injury or property loss or damage
sustained by the participant as a result of his or her
participation in the Badger State Games. Each participant, official
and volunteer is responsible for his or her own medical
insurance.
WEATHER POLICY - Sports using outdoor sites
are weather
dependent. Competitions will be conducted unless Badger State Games
personnel determine the weather conditions to be potentially
dangerous or life threatening for athletes, volunteers, or
officials. There will be no refunds due to weather.
T-SHIRTS - All registered athletes will
receive a t-shirt.
Those registered after their sports online deadline may not receive
a t-shirt onsite. Those t-shirts will be mailed 4 - 6 weeks after
the event. Late registrants who have not received a t-shirt by that
time must write the Badger State Games no later than April 1 for
the Winter Games and no later than September 1 for the Summer Games
to request one. Requests for t-shirts cannot be honored after
September 1. Badger State Games will mail t-shirts to
pre-registered athletes who fail to pick up their t-shirt on-site.
However, these athletes must send a written request and $5.00 to
BSG to cover shipping and handling charges. BSG will do its best to
accommodate requests. However, late online registrants and
pre-registered athletes who fail to pick up their t-shirts on-site,
may receive a volunteer t-shirt instead of an athlete t-shirt and
sizes cannot be guaranteed. Badger State Games will mail t-shirts
to pre-registered athletes who fail to pick up their t-shirt
on-site if these athletes send a written request and $5.00 to BSG
prior to March 1 for Winter Games and July 19 for Summer Games to
cover shipping and handling charges. Team participants who did not
replace roster holders with participant information prior to June
12 will need to follow the same procedure. If a size was not
designated prior to the event, one needs to be included with the
written request. BSG will do its best to accommodate size requests.
However, late online registrants and preregistered athletes who
fail to pick up their t-shirts onsite, may receive a volunteer
t-shirt instead of an athlete t-shirt and sizes cannot be
guaranteed.
SPECIAL NEEDS - If you require an interpreter
or have other
special access needs, please describe your specific requirements on
a separate sheet and enclose it with your entry.
