The WACVB stands for the "Wisconsin Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus". The WACVB and the WSDC have joined forces in an effort to promote Wisconsin as a sports destination. The WSDC and all of the state's CVBs work together to recruit or produce events that will make significant economic impact on the hosting community.
Why is sports tourism so important? Tourism is the state's second largest industry, accounting for nearly $11.4 billion per year. Manufacturing is the largest industry. Believe it or not, agriculture is actually third behind tourism.
